Conference features expert speakers, a program jam-packed with new technical sessions, and opportunities for customers to share best practices

Mobius Management Systems, Inc., a provider of integrated solutions for enterprise archiving and records management, today announced that futurist, author and broadcaster Dr James Bellini will be the keynote speaker, joining a number of other thought leaders at the 2007 European Mobius Users Group (MUG) conference, to be held at the Renaissance Chancery Court Hotel, London, May 2 - 4. The annual event brings together key customers and strategic partners from Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for networking, learning and sharing best practices. The theme for this year’s conference, "Celebrating Silver, Going for Gold,” recognises Mobius’s 25th anniversary and reflects the past successes and future aspirations of Mobius and its customers.

Dr James Bellini has been a regular television broadcaster with BBC, ITV, Financial Times Television and Sky News for the past 25 years. In his keynote address, he will explore what lies ahead for businesses as the Information Age enters its most prolific phase. James will challenge delegates to question whether they are doing enough to preserve, manage and protect their company’s information heritage. James describes himself as 'an historian of the future' with a keen interest in the strategic challenges facing business up to Horizon 2020. In a provocative and stimulating presentation, James will also address which factors are driving the expectations of tomorrow’s consumers - and hence the future IT needs of businesses.

Complementing the keynote address, MUG will feature top business and IT leaders from a broad cross-section of industries, who will share their experiences in deploying integrated solutions that manage vast amounts of records, documents and content in any form. Mobius customers, including Deutsche Postbank, Commerzbank, Nordea Bank and Bridgestone Firestone, will speak during breakout sessions. In addition, the MUG program will feature many new technical sessions that focus on practical tips and techniques, as well as on the technologies that deliver compelling value to organisations today, including content integration, digital signatures, e-mail and records management, and integration with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. Key partner presentations, including those from Sun Microsystems, Morse, Microsoft, Dicom Technologies and ARX, will also be included in the agenda.

"Over the last 25 years, Mobius pioneered the market for high-volume document archiving and retrieval software and helped shape the enterprise content management (ECM) market," said Tulin Pledger, director, EMEA marketing at Mobius. "Today, ECM, which has focused heavily on document management and collaboration, is fast becoming the province of Microsoft and other infrastructure vendors. As these elements of ECM become commoditized, the emphasis has shifted squarely to the need for high-volume archiving, search and retrieval, content integration, enterprise records and e-mail management, storage integration, and data quality. At MUG 2007, we will work with our customers and partners to reach a common understanding of the need for a true enterprise-wide system that can serve as the integrated archive of record; the need to apply retention management to all content items, not just those declared as traditional records; and the need for fast, flexible, secure access to records and content while ensuring their long-term integrity and availability."
