Cloudmark to Offer Market-Leading Email Security Solutions

Cloudmark, the proven leader in real-time messaging security, announced today that it now offers premium messaging anti-abuse solutions and support directly to customers of Openwave´s Mx and Gx systems due to strong customer demand. Nine tier one ISPs around the world have moved to Cloudmark on Openwave message transfer agents (MTAs) and have garnered industry awards such as InfoSecurity´s "Best Deployment Scenario." Service provider customers worldwide can now work directly with Cloudmark to implement intelligent, end-to-end messaging anti-abuse solutions. Cloudmark Authority is available as a plug-in compatible with major MTAs, including Openwave´s line of products, as well as integrated into Cloudmark´s edge MTA solution, Cloudmark Gateway(TM).

Cloudmark Edge Solutions

Cloudmark stops abusive emails (approximately 92% of all email traffic) at the network edge with 98% accuracy, significantly reducing impact on the messaging infrastructure. Cloudmark Gateway is a high-performance edge MTA integrated with the Cloudmark Authority messaging security solution. Cloudmark Gateway is uniquely able to run full content filtering, not just IP filtering, at the edge of the network while processing over three million messages per hour on a single dual CPU server.

In addition, service provider-defined policies and specific threat mitigation techniques, including anti-denial of service, traffic shaping and connection throttling, can be used to limit all forms of messaging abuse. Cloudmark Gateway provides out of the box support for the Openwave Mx directory-based policy structure, enabling Openwave customers to easily add premium protection at the edge of their network with full policy support.

Cloudmark´s "Zero Hour" Anti-Virus

Cloudmark stops new viruses, worms and other malware with industry-leading response time and accuracy. Cloudmark Authority Anti-Virus blocks attacks significantly faster than traditional AV solutions -- in minutes rather than hours or days. Cloudmark´s unmatched response time stems from its unique intelligent message fingerprinting algorithms, including one specifically targeted at Windows executables that disassembles executable code to generate fingerprints that identify new virus strains and variants in real time. Unlike competitive solutions that wait to see sufficient volume and then require time-consuming analysis and rules creation before blocking can begin, Cloudmark Authority Anti-Virus is able to detect and stop low-level virus outbreaks at the earliest onset, before they propagate throughout the service provider network.

Cloudmark´s AV technology is gaining rapid adoption. Today over 50 global service providers benefit from Cloudmark´s standard AV filtering with five service providers relying wholly on Cloudmark´s Zero Hour AV as a standalone.

Cloudmark´s Anti-Spam

Cloudmark Authority Anti-Spam has 21% higher accuracy over the industry´s incumbent, Symantec´s Brightmail, measured by rate of spam caught and low incidence of false positives. Cloudmark Authority Anti-Spam stops 98% of emails that are spam or some other form of threat at the gateway, taking pressure off from the internal messaging infrastructure. Cloudmark therefore relieves a significant infrastructural and economic burden. And, because customer feedback is instantly and automatically responded to and proliferated throughout Cloudmark´s Global Threat Network, Cloudmark´s service provider customers see a significant, measurable reduction in customer service calls and related expenses.

Cloudmark Anti-Phishing

Cloudmark has been a recognized leader on anti-phishing initiatives since 2003. Cloudmark Authority Anti-Phishing, the industry´s only gateway-based anti-phishing protection for service providers, is able to detect and block phishing attacks in real time. Cloudmark´s high phishing responsiveness and accuracy are due to Cloudmark´s unique ability to fully automate the message analysis and classification process, along with the size and breadth of the Cloudmark Global Threat Network.
