NSi Adds Canon MFD Support For AutoStore Using MEAP

Notable Solutions, Inc. (NSi), a leader in distributed document capture and workflow middleware technology, today announced its support for Canon embedded scanning through the use of MEAP embedded architecture.
AutoStore’s support for MEAP will be available for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) through NSi’s value added distribution channel including IKON.

NSi's award-winning content capture middleware technology, AutoStore, is now integrated with Canon's MEAP enabled MFPs, providing customers with a proven, rules-based workflow solution for capturing, processing and routing content to a wide variety of business applications - significantly improving business process efficiency through embedded authentication, increased level of security, centralized device management tools and bi-directional data validation from the device. With Canon’s MEAP development architecture and AutoStore’s powerful capabilities, users can invoke many of AutoStore’s processing features easily from their Canon MFP touch screen interface.

The collaboration between NSi and Canon will allow organizations to leverage NSI’s advanced document imaging and processing workflow middleware with all MEAP enabled multi-function peripherals (MFP). The integrated products will be able to capture hardcopy documents from Canon MEAP devices through an easy to use embedded user interface, process documents with leading edge technologies such as OCR, ICR, bar code reading, Forms Recognition and route documents to over one hundred business applications including document management systems, network fax servers, eMail services including Microsoft Exchange, and Lotus Domino as well as users’ desktops and home directory.

"Through this Canon certified integration, users of Canon devices will be able to walk to their device, click on a single button and scan documents into almost all business applications. It is easy to install and administer and thanks to Canon MFP advanced interface panel, it is easy to use.”

AutoStore integration for Canon includes

- Embedded server authentication for Microsoft Windows NTLM, Novell and Active Directory)

- Secure document delivery using SSL

- Logical group based workflow profiling including rules based authentication

- Support for all scanning features of the device including
- Preview while scanning

- Scan setting adjustments (based on user security profile)

- Unlimited workflow menus and sub-menus

- Index fields including, String, Date/Time, Boolean, Strings list
- Bi-Directional data validation and lookup against any external database

- Localized virtual keyboard support for German, French, Italian and Spanish in addition to the English virtual keyboard.

The AutoStore server shipped in EMEA will include one device license for Canon MEAP as part of its base package which includes unlimited Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
including output for searchable PDF; additional devices will be priced at $800 per device connected. There will be no additional per device charges for application connectors or additional document processing features.
