Ricoh Corporation, provider of digital office equipment, announced that eCopy, Inc., provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into enterprise software applications, has joined Ricoh's Alliance Program. The eCopy solution enables any office worker to leverage the capabilities of a digital copier or scanner to incorporate paper-based information into more than 45 enterprise software applications, including EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management Platform, Microsoft Exchange/Outlook, and Captaris RightFax. As a result, users can easily leverage their existing application software systems to better address the challenge of distributing, managing, accessing, and protecting paper documents.

By working together, Ricoh and eCopy provide a powerful document imaging and distribution solution. Users are able to walk up to a network-attached copier, place the document in the feeder and easily scan and distribute it using any number of enterprise applications. The easy-to-use, uncrowded interface provides a preview of the document to check the quality of the scan. The ergonomically-designed touch screen and keyboard enable users to enter the needed information into eCopy ShareScan OP software for quick and easy document distribution.

"Ricoh is pleased to welcome eCopy into Ricoh's Alliance Program as our goal is to work with companies that provide our customers with useful and effective document management applications through strong business synergies and alignment with our mission to provide the highest level of product quality, business solutions and services and commitment," said Wayne Mize, vice president of solutions marketing division for Ricoh Corporation.

ScanStation OP's advanced security capabilities track and protect the flow of information through audit trails and encryption, helping organizations meet customer and regulatory compliance requirements. Additionally, native integration between ShareScan OP software and enterprise applications dramatically reduces IT administration requirements for maintaining the system. Buyers Laboratory Inc., a leading source for unbiased information and reliable intelligence for the imaging industry, rated the combined Ricoh/eCopy ShareScan OP solution at five stars, the highest possible rating. Ricoh's Alliance Program encourages leading software companies, content management systems integrators and consulting companies to work together with Ricoh to provide innovative and effective software, digital imaging and content/document management solutions. There are two divisions within the Alliance Program, the Strategic Alliance Program and the Technology Alliance Program. eCopy has joined the Technology Alliance Program, which is comprised of third-party software companies who specialize in solution offerings that complement Ricoh hardware and software technologies.

"By adding eCopy's capabilities to its solution portfolio, Ricoh strengthens its position as a provider of essential infrastructure for managing the complete document lifecycle," said Edward Schmid, President and CEO, eCopy. "As a member of Ricoh's Alliance Program, we will continue to utilize each other's expertise to create strong bottom-line results for our customers and expand our joint market opportunities by enabling Ricoh digital copiers to serve as paper on-ramps for virtually any business process."
